Cuomo Talks “Impressions,” Twitter, Roker on the Menu

cuomo2_3-11.bmpAfter finishing up on ABC’s Good Morning America, Chris Cuomo joined us on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu.

During GMA’s “Big” week, he reported live from the tallest building in the world in Dubai. “[It] gives the audience a little bit of a distraction, a little bit of a chance to wonder and to imagine good things, instead of just being confronted by day after day of bad financial data,” he said.

Sam Champion reported today from the Amazon rain forest, where Cuomo says GMA’s weather anchor was like “Indiana Jones on steroids.”

Cuomo is new on Twitter (@ChrisCuomo), but thinks the has enjoyed the service. “I think that you at your own peril ignore the latest iterations of new media,” he said.

He also puts some historical perspective on “what we’re living through right now” in the media world. “The move from radio to television was met with the same concerns, cautions and confidences that we are dealing with now with the Internet,” says Cuomo.

Also discussed: Cuomo’s take on Cronkite Award winners George Stephanopoulos and Katie Couric, why he thinks Al Roker consistently takes shots at him and his future plans for the Web.
