Charter Communications, the nation’s fourth largest U.S. cable operator, has entered into a long-term agreement to carry up to 70 different networks from The Walt Disney Company, including multiple ESPN channels, the ABC network, the ABC owned stations, and the upcoming ABC News/Univision Joint Venture.

Also announced today, NBCUniversal and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) signed a comprehensive carriage deal for the NBCU portfolio on nearly 1,000 independent cable operators that are members of the NCTC. Included are MSNBC, CNBC and Bravo, as well as a first-ever retransmission consent deal for NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations.

On Saturday, the GMA anchor Tweeted this photo as she was reunited with her Jack Russell terrier KJ. Doctors advise transplant patients to refrain from coming in contact with pets in the first 100 days as immune systems are still vulnerable. TMZ reports it may be mid-2013 before Roberts is healthy enough to return to the show. But an ABC News spokesperson says, “We have never put a timetable on Robin’s return. We have always said that the decision will be made by her doctors when they feel it is the right time.”

The mom, Theresa Nash, was interviewed by Don Lemon last night, and asked her children to try to find a phone and call her. As it happens, the boys had been taken to Austin, Texas by their father. A hotel employee recognized the boys, and called 911. The police responded, and the kids were able to call their mom.

Nash, the police and her attorney credited CNN, and the media generally, with getting the boys home safe.

In addition to daytime live coverage, there will be a two-hour edition of “Fox Report with Harris Faulkner” from 6-8pmET and a special edition of “The Five” at 8pm. CNN will be in live coverage, as usual most of the day. MSNBC will extend its live coverage in the afternoon until at least 6pm, later if news warrants. CNBC has a special tonight at 8pm, and another tomorrow night at 6pm. Fox Business will be doing live cut-ins at the top of each hour from 6pm-midnight. And if you want uninterrupted cliff negotiations from the House Floor tune in to C-SPAN beginning at 2pmET.

Holmes Filling in on MSNBC Former CNN anchor T.J. Holmes, who left the network a year ago to join BET was back on cable news today, on MSNBC.

MSNBC tells us Holmes is doing some holiday fill-in work for them, today sitting in for Alex Witt.

Holmes’ hire by BET earlier this year was seen as a move the network was expanding its news presence. In April, the network announced Holmes would host a daily late-night conversation/comedy/current events program called “Don’t Sleep.” But in October, six weeks after launch, the show was scaled back to one night a week.

On Twitter this afternoon, Holmes thanked viewers for feedback adding, “Wasn’t perfect but hey, I’m rusty!”

Obama in Midst of Final Fiscal Cliff Talks David Gregory will be hosting “Meet the Press” this Sunday after all, breaking his previously scheduled vacation to interview President Obama. Gregory heads to the White House tomorrow for the interview which will air Sunday on “Meet the Press.” This is Barack Obama‘s 11th time on the show, but only his second as commander-in-chief. His most recent appearance was on September 20, 2009, during the health care reform fight. The talk this time will focus on the fiscal cliff as well as other second term agenda items.

You’ll recall it was on last week’s edition of “Meet the Press” that Gregory violated Washington D.C. code when he held up an assault weapon clip as a prop in a point he was making with NRA chief Wayne LaPierre.

Just thinking out loud here, the president does posses the ability to pardon past transgressions.

Bronx resident Nouel Alba was the subject of a December 20 report by Drew Griffin on “Anderson Cooper 360″ and a December 21 report by Jeff Rossen on “Today.” Both Rossen and CNN investigative producer David Fitzpatrick paid a visit to Alba’s house in the Bronx, where she denied posing as the aunt of Noah Pozner, one of the children killed in the Newtown shooting.

Alba was arrested Thursday and charged with lying to FBI agents, who visited Alba to investigate the fraudulent fundraising scheme after the CNN and NBC reports aired. Watch the CNN report below and the NBC report after the jump:
