Dateline: To Catch a Golden Globe

With the Golden Globes all but canceled due to the WGA strike, NBC has resorted to other methods to air the results. NBC announced today that at 7pmET, Dateline NBC will air a special, “Going for Gold,” which will feature one-on-one interviews with Golden Globe nominees. Matt Lauer will host the two hour special.

Interviews have been announced with Sally Field, Kyra Sedgwick and William Shatner, among others. The show will also include commentary from comedian Kathy Griffin, and the Football Night in America team (including Keith Olbermann?) will offer predictions.

The press conference at 9pmET to announce the winners will we handled by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and was expected to be covered by NBC News. There is still no information regarding which NBC News correspondents will handle that hour.
