David Levine Upped at CNN
The EP of HLN’s Showbiz Tonight, David Levine, has been promoted to Senior Executive Producer of CNN Entertainment, while continuing to oversee Showbiz Tonight.
In a note to staff, obtained by TVNewser, CNN’s SVP of editorial Nancy Lane writes, “As various CNN divisions and departments discuss how to create and present content across multiple platforms – TV, dot.com, mobile, etc. – it’s become evident that there is a need to take the next step in the coordination of entertainment newsgathering and production efforts.”
The CNN Entertainment Unit will now report to Levine who joined the network in 2005 to re-launch Showbiz Tonight. Before CNN, Levine was senior broadcast producer of daytime news programming at MSNBC.
