Deitch Leaves NBC News

Ed Deitch, a longtime senior producer for NBC Nightly News, is leaving the broadcast. It was Deitch’s decision to leave, accepting a buyout as part of the employee cuts in the network’s news division. Deitch, who won the James Beard Award earlier this year for his msnbc.com wine column, has told colleagues he is taking advantage of new opportunities in news, business and wine. Deitch was a senior producer under both Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw.
