Drawn-Out Primary Delays Brown’s Show

ACBrown_3_10.JPGCampbell Brown becomes the permanent host of CNN’s 8pm placeholder show Election Center starting tonight. “Since the campaign is continuing, so will Election Center,” CNN spokeswoman Barbara Levin tells TVNewser. “As a long time political reporter, Campbell is very eager to cover this election immediately. So, she will anchor Election Center while also working to develop her new program,” Levin adds.

In late January CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein told TVNewser the show “is on track to be launched in March.” Promotional spots began airing last month.

Rick Sanchez, who had been anchoring Out in the Open at 8pmET for several months, is back in Atlanta anchoring CNN Saturday and Sunday. Last night, Sanchez told viewers he turned in his keys to his New York apartment a few days ago.
