Dropping in to Denver
There’s something missing from Joanne Ostrow‘s Denver Post story about national media types who are about to descend on Denver. Namely, a complete story.
Ostrow writes about the coverage plans of NBC News, MSNBC, PBS and NPR. She even talks with Keith Olbermann and Gwen Ifill. But no mention of Fox News, CNN, ABC or CBS. Granted, Ostrow writes about how the local affiliates “will make use of visiting network talent.” Katie Couric on KCNC; Charlie Gibson on KMGH; and “Fox 31 likewise is trying to get all Fox News Channel personnel on the air.”
But that’s about it. Maybe we’ve missed other stories on the subject or maybe anchors from those other nets weren’t available to speak to her, but it seems a little light to be a “roundup of media preparations.”
Ostrow does have an interesting quote from Ifill, however, who “has been mentioned as a ‘Meet the Press’ host contender.” Ostrow asks about “folks vying to fill Russert’s role.”
“If you look for it, you’ll see it,” Ifill says.
