Esquire Writer on the Dateline Lawsuit

On the heels of the settlement of a $105M lawsuit against NBC over one of its Predator stories, FishbowlNY’s Noah Davis talks with Esquire’s Luke Dittrich. Dittrich was writing an expose on the Dateline series last summer when the suit was filed.

I’m not surprised they chose to settle. Win or lose, a trial would have shone a spotlight on exactly how To Catch a Predator operates. They crossed a line, and they know it.

Davis also writes that despite all references to the case being removed from Dateline’s website, as reported by the LATimes’ Matea Gold yesterday, the story can still be found at archive.org.
