Evening News Ratings: May Sweep: ABC #1

World News with Charles Gibson was #1 in total viewers and the 25-54 demo for the May sweeps. It marks ABC’s “second straight sweeps victory and first back-to-back win in 11 years,” ABC says.

There was another champagne toast at World News today to celebrate the sweeps win. Gibson, David Westin and Jon Banner congratulated the staff in NYC and DC.

For the May sweep (April 26-May 23):

Total viewers: ABC: 7,954,000 / NBC: 7,303,500 / CBS: 6,099,500

25-54 demo: ABC: 2,458,500 / NBC: 2,193,500 / CBS: 1,929,000

Households: ABC: 5.6/12 / NBC: 5.2/11 / CBS: 4.3/9
