The AP’s David Bauder says astronauts Rick Hauck on NBC and Kathryn Thornton on CBS “humanized the coverage” of the shuttle’s return to flight, “putting viewers figuratively in seats virtually none will ever sit in.” An example: “During the first few moments of a space flight…Hauck said he felt like a hamburger with a spatula pushing down on his chest trying to squeeze all of the juices out of him.”
