Experian Hitwise: O’Reilly Factor Tops Cable News Sites, Daily Show Wins Late-Night

Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor was the top-ranked cable-news-show website for the week ending June 25, according to data from Experian Hitwise, with MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show grabbing second place, and the No. 3 spot going to Fox News’ On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.

Comedy Central continued to occupy the top two slots on the late-night talk-show chart, with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno finished third for the week.

The morning news shows finished in their customary order: NBC’s Today, ABC’s Good Morning America, and CBS’ The Early Show.

The top three broadcast-network websites belonged to CBS, ABC, and NBC. Fox’s American Idol won the vote for top broadcast-show site, followed by NBC’s The Voice, and ABC’s The Bachelorette. Newcomers to the top 25 were all from ABC: Expedition Impossible (to No. 8 from No. 45), Extreme Makeover — Home Edition (17 from 27), and Wipeout (21 from 31).

Comedy’s South Park was the top-ranked adults-only cable-show site, trailed by MTV’s 16 & Pregnant, and ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. USA’s Suits was the only new top-25 site (20 from 144).

When combining broadcast and cable show sites, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants took the top spot, followed by South Park, and Telemundo’s La Reine del Sur. The only new entry to the top 25 was Fox’s America’s Most Wanted (24 from 34).
