Explaining CNN’s Offsite Meeting
A CNN spokesperson writes to TVNewser:
“Just to set the record straight on what has been called in some reports the ‘secret’ retreat — first of all; it was never kept secret. It was an offsite meeting with CNN staff from every business unit and geographic region represented, to discuss together the past year (of record ratings and revenue growth across CNN’s domestic and international businesses), the digital future and strategic priorities for the year ahead.
As far as ridiculous reports of costs of the event — apparently they aren’t aware of ‘corporate group discounts.’”
(In other words: Nobu tasting menus? Dream on.)
