Fedida Upped at CBS News

Fedida_2.28.jpgSean McManus, president of CBS News and Sports announced Barbara Fedida has been promoted to VP of talent and development for the news division.

Fedida oversees the recruitment and development of on-air and behind-the-camera personnel for CBS News and will now oversee those functions for CBS Newspath as well. Fedida will also oversee CBS News’ business affairs department and will continue to be involved in helping oversee diversity initiatives.

Fedida has been executive director of talent since joining CBS from ABC News in August 2006. Fedida began at ABC News in 1989, working for many years with Peter Jennings, first for Peter Jennings Reporting, later on World News Tonight and then for ABC 2000, the 26-hour millennium broadcast. Fedida was one of a handful of producers who worked on the Peter Jennings tribute special in August 2005.
