FNC Airs Obama’s CBC Speech; MSNBC, CNN Don’t

FNCObama_9.26.jpgHere’s a switch. Tonight, Fox News Channel aired, in its entirety, a speech given by Pres. Obama at the Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Awards Dinner. While MSNBC remained with “Lockup” and CNN aired a “Larry King Live” from earlier this week, from 9:26pm to 9:51pm, FNC broadcast a tape-playback of the speech.

The past few weeks FNC has passed on airing speeches and other appearances from the president, while their cable competitors had. FOX was the only major U.S. broadcast network not to get an interview with Obama last Sunday.

One story FNC did not mention today – Glenn Beck Day in Mt. Vernon, Washington, the FNC host’s hometown. Earlier today in Seattle Beck spoke to a crowd of 7,000 at Safeco Field. Tonight he gets the ceremonial keys to the city of Mt. Vernon.

Interestingly, FNC’s airing of Obama’s speech interrupted the 9pmET weekend re-air of “Glenn Beck” for about 25 minutes.
