FNC Piloting Weekend Programs

Until recently, FNC’s weekend lineup was stable, with Heartland at 8pm on Saturdays and War Stories at 8pm on Sundays; The Line Up at 9pm; and The Big Story Primetime at 10pm. But the network is shifting some shows around and piloting several specials, with the possibility of turning the pilots into regular shows.

FNC has scrappd The Big Story Primetime. According to a tipster, the show never had a permanent host after Rita Cosby left. “Without a strong personality as a host, it was pretty much just a prime time hour of Fox News Live,” an FNC insider says.

The Line Up moved to 10pm earlier this month, as Kimberly Guilfoyle returned from maternity leave. “This makes sense… think of it as a sort of Weekend Greta,” the insider says.

mancownov26.jpgFNC seems undecided about permanent programming for the 9pm hour. It has filled the time slot with tape: “Crime Scene” specials by Greta Van Susteren, an hour on North Korea called “A Threat To The World,” and a pilot called “Hannity on America.” And last week, radio talk show host Erich “Mancow” Muller got an hour called “Planet Mancow.” Maybe the suits were pleased with its ratings, because it’s re-running this weekend.

The net has a number of options for the 9pm hour. Maybe Greg Gutfeld‘s segments, “Wasteland,” are a TV rehearsal. Or maybe “Watch This Right Now” could be resurrected. In the meantime, expect more taped specials and pilots…
