FNC To Cooper: Stop Pontificating, Start Worrying About CNN’s Meltdown

cooperaugust12.jpgThis afternoon, a Fox News spokesperson responded to Anderson Cooper‘s Natalee Holloway “media madness” segment: “Perhaps Anderson should worry more about the future of CNN and the meltdown going on there instead of pontificating on what the number one cable news network is doing.” Other reactions:

> BuzzMachine: “He broke an unwritten rule of news: He criticized his competitors for overdosing on the Natalee Holloway story. Of course, CNN and Cooper can be accused of overdosing on a few stories of their own (ahem). But I’ll take a little news self-criticism, even if it is self-serving.”

> “Before Mr. Cooper can really claim to be holier than thou, how come none of the clips were from Nancy Grace? Or does his integrity end when he needs to criticize his own company? What a self-righteous hypocrite,” an e-mailer says.

> “This excerpt is exactly why CNN is in 3rd place,” an e-mailer says: “Until something else happens, until there really are developments, we’ll leave the rest to the other guys.”
