FNC Tops with Bush Address/Analysis

While we await final, updated cable ratings for Wednesday, we do know that FNC’s coverage of President Bush’s address to the nation that nigt was its highest-rated presidential address in four years. Fox News also topped its cable competitors. Here’s the Total Viewer and A25-54 demo break-down from 9-9:15pmET:

Network Total Viewers A25-54 Viewers
FNC 4,838,000 1,377,000
CNN 3,045,000 1,176,000
MSNBC 2,020,000 813,000

All three cable news networks saw their viewership go up at 9:15. So, while some viewers watched on the broadcasters, they turned to the cable channels for analysis. Again FNC came in first, with anchor Brit Hume. On CNN, Larry King benefited the most at 9:15. He had former Pres. Bill Clinton on as a guest. And on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, (in a role some have criticized) anchored pre- and post-address coverage from 9-10pmET. Here’s the Total Viewer and A25-54 demo break-down from 9-9:30pmET::

Network Total Viewers A25-54 Viewers
FNC 4,866,000 1,408,000
