Middle East Crisis: Shep Under Fire

Shep Smith found himself in the middle of a rocket attack again Tuesday morning.

"Smith ducked into a building in Nahariya, Israel on Tuesday after Hezbollah-launched rockets fell nearby, one destroying an apartment building. His live telephone report aired shortly after on Fox News Channel," the AP says.

Smith told David Bauder: "At some point, probably, at home for viewers this becomes sort of an everyday event. But when rockets are raining on your neighborhood, it is anything but ordinary to be here."

Meanwhile, someone out there really loves Shep. He or she writes e-mails like a public relations expert; click continued to read them...

Shep's "fan club:"

Shep was stellar tonight from Israel. He already has the whole story down cold and reports with total authority. He's great to watch in the field. Honestly, he's entirely unique to Fox....a MAJOR asset to them during a story like this.

Shep Smith secured a big exclusive today. I can't say who it is, but it's one of the most sought after interviews right now in Israel.

FYI SHEP IS GETTING A TON OF AIR TIME. HE'S ON IN DURING EVERY HOUR TONIGHT.

After coming under fire twice in 2 days, it's obvious Shepherd Smith is kicking everyone's ass on this story. ABC, CBS NBC and CNN would KILL for the video he's getting

I am crying as I watch this interview on Fox with the father and wife of one of the kidnapped Israel soldiers. Shepherd did a tremendous job.

I don't know if you have aTIVO, but you need to watch the interview Shepard Smith conducted with the wife of the kidnapped soldier. We see so much about rockets and borders but not so much about the people who are effected most. It was moving, and added a new dimension of this whole conflict.

Fox News Channel's ratings soar because of Shepard Smith's reporting. http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002841026
