FNC’s Questions Kent’s Gap Measurement

A Fox News spokesperson says Phil Kent is employing fuzzy math when he says CNN has “made substantial progress in closing the gap” with Fox.

Since the Middle East conflict began, FNC has increased the gap with CNN in the 25-54 demo, by 25 percent in total day and 41 percent in prime (compared to 2006-to-date). The Fox spokesperson joked: “It almost harkens us back to the days of the AOL-Time Warner accounting scandal.”

But I think it’s safe to assume that Kent is taking a longer view of the ratings war — using quarter-to-quarter and year-to-year data…
