Ford: Fact-Checking The King
A Michigan insider writes to TVNewser:![]()
“Larry King had some incorrect info during the opener” of his special tribute to Gerald Ford last night: “He said that Gerald Ford was born Gerald King. He was born Leslie King, and his name was changed to Gerald Ford when his mother remarried.![]()
He also said Gerald Ford refused to meet his real father when he was a young man; not true. His father came to a restaurant where Gerald Ford was a waiter and introduced himself by saying, ‘Son, I’m your father.’![]()
But Larry had a good “get” — Nancy Reagan, who was up top on his show.”
