Former VP Cheney Undergoes Heart Transplant

The news that former Vice President Dick Cheney had undergone heart transplant surgery today starting hitting newsrooms around 7pmET. Cheney, who has survived five heart attacks, is recovering in a hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. He’s been on the transplant list for more than 20 months, his family said. Fox News reported the breaking story at the start of “Fox Report” at 7pmET. MSNBC broke into taped programming to report the news at 7:08pm and CNN reported the news at 7:35pm.
