The Inside Scoop page on CBSNews.com reveals that Forrest Sawyer will be anchoring the CBS Evening News tonight and tomorrow night. Sawyer spent 11 years at ABC News, he then moved to MSNBC where he anchored election coverage in 2000 as well as other special reports. He was also Brian Williams‘ substitute anchor on The News. He owns his own documentary production company called Freefall Productions.
Sawyer was last in the news in December after being injured in a helicopter crash in Tanzania. Sawyer was on assignment for the Travel Channel at the time. He was lauded for helping get other passengers to safety.
