Fox Business Network Or Channel?

What’s the difference between Fox Business Network and Fox Business Channel?

The company’s February announcement said it was “currently named Fox Business Channel,” but the Channel name was never official.

Last week’s announcement of Fox Business Network should have meant an end to the name game. But a number of people are still referring to it as Fox Business Channel — even FNC’s own Megyn Kelly, who used the Channel name on America’s Newsroom this morning.

Is there a reason for calling it a Network and not a Channel?

> Update: 2:17pm: “It will be a “network” of media outlets – TV, internet and newspaper (with the News Corp. acquisition of The Wall Street Journal),” an emailer replies. “A channel is like a silo while a network reaches in several directions (love corporate speak).”
