Fox Employees’ Information May Have Been Compromised

Breaking: A former Fox Entertainment benefits department employee is in police custody accused of acquiring the personal information of other Fox employees. According to an email obtained by TVNewser and sent to employees whose information was determined to have been obtained by the fired employee, the accused “acquired the information in June 2008 (or possibly earlier). The investigation suggests that the confidential data was used to annoy selected individuals (whom we have already separately notified),” reads the email.

There is no evidence to suggest that anyone’s confidential information was disseminated by the former employee.

Fox reported the former employee to law enforcement. Los Angeles police then executed a search warrant at the former employee’s house and retrieved some employee data. The Los Angeles County District Attorneys High Tech Crime Division is investigating.
