Fox & Friends Takes Turn Taking on Olbermann

F&Ftv_1-16.jpgFox & Friends took the one anonymous quote from the Keith Olbermann Men’s Journal article this morning about him “running the network,” and devoted almost five minutes of airtime to it.

Brian Kilmeade began the segment, saying, “It turns out the truth according to Keith Olbermann at MSNBC is that he runs things, he’s essentially running the news department.” This is incorrect, since it wasn’t Olbermann who said that quote.

A graphic of a peacock titled “Keith Runs MSNBC” with Olbermann’s face in the middle accompanied the segment, which was supposed to show “all the people who work for him,” according to co-host Steve Doocy. Faces of Brian Williams, Tim Russert, Tom Brokaw and Steve Capus were shown — all of NBC News and not MSNBC, and who would not fall under Olbermann’s command, even if he did run MSNBC.

Doocy, Kilmeade and Gretchen Carlson later attacked MSNBC for allowing Olbermann to anchor election coverage since he is a partisan. “It’s just extraordinary that MSNBC has got a partisan sitting in the chair, and not only that, he’s running the network,” said Doocy.

The trio also were shocked over Olbermann blogging for Daily Kos, a site that Kilmeade described as “anti-american.”
