Fox News Explains “Magic Negro” Ticker Text

During the three-hour UParty 2009 New Year’s Eve special, Fox News asked viewers to send in text messages which aired in the ticker. Among the tens of thousands of submissions, this one got on the air…

Fox News VP of programming Suzanne Scott explains, “We received tens of thousands of text message submissions during our New Years Eve special, and this particular viewer submission was inadvertently cleared for air. At FOX we recognize our error as opposed to networks who allow their hosts to utter crude vulgarities to the public.”

This is what Scott is referring to. As for how the text got through, an insider tells us a couple screeners were on duty in the control room Wednesday night and that that one slipped through.
