Fox's NASCAR Coverage Hits Three-Year Viewership High

NASCAR on Fox’s 2011 season averaged 8.6 million viewers per race, up 9 percent over last year (7.9 million viewers) and a three-year high for the network.

It’s also the largest one-year audience increase in the 11-year history of NASCAR on Fox.

For all 13 races, the network’s NASCAR coverage averaged a 5.0/11 household rating/share. Fox saw the biggest increase among Men 18-34 with average ratings in the demographic up 20 percent over last year (1.8 vs. 1.5).

The NASCAR on Fox season concluded Sunday with a 3.9 rating/10 share (6.3 million viewers) for the Kansas 400, according to Nielsen.

Compared to NASCAR’s last Kansas event, Sunday’s race was up 63 percent in household rating/share (2.4/5) and up 67 percent in average audience (3.8 million viewers).
