Galvin Promoted at HLN

GalvinBill_11-19.jpgIt was announced today that Bill Galvin has been promoted to Senior VP at HLN. Previously, he was VP of programming for the network.

Galvin’s promotion comes at a time when HLN is on track for its best year ratings-wise. In a note to staff, Ken Jautz, EVP of CNN Worldwide and head of HLN, said his network’s recent growth “would not have been possible without Bill.”

While at HLN, Galvin launched or lead transitions for several programs and was one of the people to working on the campaign to rebrand the network from Headline News to HLN.

TVNewser has Jautz’s email after the jump.

I am very pleased to report that Bill Galvin has been named Senior Vice President, HLN, a well-deserved promotion that reflects his leadership at HLN, his successful launch of the Atlanta-based In Session “network,” and his oversight of In Session programming.

HLN has achieved record ratings and growth in recent years, and that would not have been possible without Bill. He launched Morning Express and the Clark Howard shows, and re-launched Prime News. He spearheaded the transition of Issues with Jane Velez Mitchell from New York to Atlanta, and created an Atlanta studio for the Nancy Grace show. He helped lead the campaign to re-brand the network HLN. He has been — and will continue to be — responsible for production of HLN’s daytime and early prime programming and related digital extensions, and will continue to serve as a key HLN point person for marketing, ad sales and other groups throughout the company.

Bill’s promotion underscores the high esteem in which he is held throughout the company, and the positive impact he has had on our programming and business. Please join me in congratulating him.
