The broadcast networks' morning shows and the cable news networks all aired live the Academy Award nominations this morning, but Fox & Friends may have had the most interesting (or annoying) coverage. F&F anchors Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocy along with entertainment reporter Jill Dobson listened-in and commented on the nominations in Mystery Science Theater 3000 style.

Over on MSNBC, WNBC film critic Jeffrey Lyons joined Mika Brzezinski and fill-in host Chris Matthews on Morning Joe. Like FNC, the MSNBC coverage included keeping the anchors' microphones open to comment on the nominations. "Chris Matthews on the movies, it's a new day," said Brzezinski.
