Deborah Tang, Formerly Of BET News, Dies

Richard Prince writes in his Journal-isms column of the passing of Deborah Tang, "who created Black Entertainment Television's news division and as vice president of news, entertainment and sports programming hired news anchor Ed Gordon, talk-show host Tavis Smiley and others..."

Tang, 60, died of cancer on December 25 in Washington, D.C.
