Vieira: "I Did Spend Nine Years With the Lesbians of The View"
More than 300 journalists packed the Times Center, part of the new New York Times headquarters near Times Square. Boldfacers from all the networks were there, including FNC's Geraldo Rivera, Harris Faulkner and Kimberly Guilfoyle; from NBC, Matt Lauer and news division president Steve Capus; from ABC News, Senior VP Dave Davis and Bill Ritter of WABC and 20/20; CNN's Jeanne Moos; and Rita Cosby. Just a few floors from where the biggest news story of the year broke, Vieira deadpanned, "Tonight's event comes on the day that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned from office, embroiled in a sex scandal. That was a story that we, at the Today show broke, as you know." Vieira then introduced Bill Keller, the Times's executive editor whose metro desk broke the Spitzer news Monday afternoon. Viera added that the paper had just published the story of "the woman who was behind the whole scandal." More on Keller's remarks about Spitzer, a poke at Hillary Clinton, and the future of the newspaper business...on FishbowlNY. Email This Post |
