Geraldo, the “Celebrity,” on Today

GeraldoA_1112.jpgFox News’ Geraldo Rivera guested on the Today show this morning to talk about his one-on-one with Drew Peterson, the suburban Chicago man who is a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Stacy.

Rivera told Meredith Vieira got the interview simply by calling him up. “I stood in front of his house; all the satellite trucks were there. I called him again. He heard my voice on the machine. I said, ‘I’m right outside your house.’ I can see the Venetian blinds crack open. He invited me in.”

“We started talking and he says, ‘I hate you guys in the media.’ I said, ‘why did you see me?’ He said, ‘you’re a celebrity.’ He went from there.”

Rivera worked for NBC, hosting a show on CNBC. He left the network in the Fall of 2001.
