Glor on the “Menu”: “I Think We’re Really Doing Some Very Cool, Different, Unique, Interesting Pieces”
Saturday anchor of the CBS Evening News and national correspondent Jeff Glor joined us this morning on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu podcast.
Glor was back in his hometown of Buffalo to cover the recent tragic plane crash and anchored his first Evening News after being named the permanent anchor from the site the following day. “It was one of those sad, strange coincidences that happen…It was really kind of a surreal experience,” he said.
At just 33, Glor has shot up through the ranks at CBS to network news anchor. “I think we’re really doing some very cool, different, unique, interesting pieces,” he says of the Saturday broadcast. “We’re also obviously getting the news of the day out there on Saturday. I’m young, sure, I’m 33, but I’ve been doing this for 12, 13 years now.”
Also discussed: the New York Times’ local citizen journalism push, the detained American reporter in Iran and a look at Upstate New York local television.
You can listen to the podcast live at 9amET on BlogTalkRadio.com/mediabistro and call in at 646-929-0321. On tomorrow’s “Menu”: the hosts of the upcoming Current TV “Rotten Tomatoes Show.”![]()
