‘GMA’ in Russia; Stephanopoulos Defends Palin Question
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos anchored “Good Morning America” from St. Petersburg, Russia earlier today. The broadcast was part of an eastern European swing he’s making that included a stop in Prague yesterday to sit down with President Obama.
This is Stephanpoulos’ first trip to the country and he filed reports this morning on Russian fashion and the blini business. He’ll be in Moscow on Monday.
Stephanopoulos today also found himself defending a question he asked of the President during that interview yesterday in which he quoted Sarah Palin. Stephanopoulos tells HuffPost, “she’s a former VP candidate — and potential challenger to President Obama — with a strong following in the GOP. She made a pointed critique of a new Presidential policy. By asking the President for his response, I was doing my job.”
