Greta Calls Columnist a “Pig,” Explains
CBC columnist Heather Mallick, who has been drawing heat for calling Gov. Sarah Palin “white trash,” among other things, was a topic of discussion last night on On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.
Van Susteren had David Warren from the Ottawa Citizen on to discuss the column, and in the course of the interview she said Mallick “sounds like a pig to me.”
She continued later in the interview: “There’s no part of me that thinks this woman published this as part of a grand motive to expose others. I think she just wrote it for selfish reasons and because, as I noted, I think she’s a pig.”
On her blog, Van Susteren explained her reason for the harsh critique. “I hate gratuitous insults towards candidates,” she wrote. “It is fair and right and smart to challenge candidate…but do we have to get in the gutter?”
