Greta Van Susteren ‘Condemns’ Cliven Bundy’s Comments About African Americans

Greta304x200Greta Van Susteren took to GretaWire this morning to “condemn” Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy for comments he made about African Americans in a New York Times interview.

“Let me make this one really plain: I condemn what Cliven Bundy says about African Americans,” read Van Susteren’s headline on her blog.

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” Bundy said to the Times, recounting his drive past a Las Vegas public-housing project.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Of the big three cable networks, Fox News has been out front covering Bundy’s conflict with federal rangers, which stems from the government trying to collect over $1 million Bundy owes in back grazing fees. Sean Hannity has covered the conflict extensively, and defended his coverage on Monday night, incredulously asking whether the federal government would be sending 200 armed agents to everybody’s house.
