Has Anyone Noticed the Knicks and Nets Aren't Good?

Because it doesn’t seem like the local papers are paying attention.

The New York Knicks fell to 3-4 after Tuesday’s embarrassing loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The New Jersey Nets are even worse, dropping their fifth straight.

You’d never know it from the New York Post‘s columnists, however. They wrote about the Giants, the Jets, the Yankees, the Mets, and waterfowl, but not either of the two basketball teams even though they both played Tuesday night.

The New York Times is a bit better with its Off The Dribble blog, but then again, they’ll give almost any subject a blog.

With the Giants and Jets gearing up for a playoff run and the Derek Jeter story continuing to unfold, the two hoops squads are going to have to make some serious noise to land coverage. Given their respective rosters, that’s not going to happen.

As Jason Gay wrote on Tuesday, New York is a “football town.”
