HBO, NBC Big Winners At 32nd Annual Sports Emmy Awards

HBO and NBC were the big winners Monday night in New York at the 32nd annual Sports Emmy Awards with seven wins each.

Three of seven HBO’s awards were for Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the New York Jets. The football series won for Outstanding Post Production Audio/Sound, Outstanding Camera Work, and Outstanding Edited Sports Series – Anthology.

CBS finished the night with six awards while ESPN took home five. Surprisingly, Turner Sports went home empty-handed.

NBC’s hockey play-by-play announcer Mike “Doc” Emrick won the Outstanding Sports Personality in the Play-By-Play category while Bob Costas won the award in the Studio Host category.

On the analyst side, NBC’s Cris Collinsworth won for Sports Event Analyst and ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit won for Studio Analyst.

ABC’s coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup final match (Spain vs. Netherlands) won for Outstanding Live Sports Special.
