HLN, Fox News, MSNBC Showing Double, Triple Digit Growth

The March ratings period, and therefore the first quarter, is due to end this Sunday. But we have this snapshot, provided by Turner Research, of how the cable news networks are faring so far. The chart below is for Primetime cable news viewing (Mon-Sun, 8-11pmET; Nielsen Media Research) through last week. Year-over-year HLN has shown the most growth in both the A25-54 demo and in Total Viewers. Fox News and MSNBC are also up while CNN is down in both measurements.

When compared to the post-2004 election period, all the cable news networks are up with MSNBC showing the most growth – up 192% in the demo and 217% in Total Viewers.
