HLN’s Out Of Date Broadcasts

Here’s a good reason not to run tape on the weekends: Both Saturday and Sunday, HLN aired obsolete and outdated editions of Nancy Grace.

The shows covered “the search for Jessie Davis even though it was reported at 6pm EDT [Saturday] that her body had been found,” ICN says.

By Sunday, suspects were in custody. Still, HLN replayed the repeats, using a lower third to update viewers:

Unfortunately, CNN didn’t do that for Glenn Beck, whose show precedes and follows Grace’s. His chyrons still said “Missing Mom,” and this one briefly appeared:

Thankfully, Beck didn’t spend most of his broadcast covering Davis’ disappearance, so the outdatedness was less embarrassing…

> Update: 1:55pm: An e-mailer wonders: “Would anything prevent CNN from simulcasting either CNN-US or CNN-International on HLN on weekend evenings when the breaking news makes the Headline News tape irrelevant?”
