NYMag.com is running one of those annoying popdown ads. The spot – for Armani Jeans at Macy’s – features an attractive, shirtless guy with a washboard stomach… who also happens to be Cristiano Ronaldo, the second-best soccer player in the world (behind this guy, who’s not nearly as pretty). One question for Armani: Why cast him? Americans have no idea who Ronaldo is.

It’s a strange choice, especially considering Megan Fox – who anyone can recognize – has her own Armani Jeans ad as well.
