How Sam Champion Got on the Today Show

As the news was still breaking of last night’s deadly tornado at a Boy Scout camp in Iowa, the network morning shows rushed correspondents to the scene. Ann Curry for the Today show, Sam Champion for GMA and The Early Show’s Dave Price. And it appears they all ended up just a few feet from each other.

Around 7:09amET, Curry was interviewing families who had been reunited with their children while GMA was airing a taped story. When the GMA package ended Champion gave a live wrap on ABC…and on NBC too…
