Imus Fired: NBC Couldn’t Maintain An “Inclusive Work Environment” With Imus On The Payroll

NBC News execs met for “much of the afternoon” to discuss Don Imus‘ status with the company, a source tells TVNewser.

The decision came on the heels of conversations Steve Capus had with concerned employees: “We want to maintain an inclusive work environment, and as the days went on, it appeared more and more difficult to maintain while having a relationship with Imus.”

The source says Capus consulted with Jeff Zucker.

“Truly, advertisers weren’t the thing that pushed it over the top, it was employees,” the source said…
