It’s Rio in 2016

The cable news nets covered the 12:51pmET announcement from Copenhagen that Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 Summer games. The news came less than 90 minutes after Chicago was dropped after the first round of voting.

Now the question: who will be the U.S. rights-holder in 2016? NBC/Comcast? ABC/ESPN? A combined CBS/Time Warner bid? News Corp. and its networks? The IOC had said it would not open the bidding process for broadcast rights-holders until after the 2016 host city had been announced. Let those games begin.
