“It’s Suit & Tie Day”

suzannejuly25.jpgLast Tuesday, as journalists wondered when President Bush would announce his Supreme Court nominee, CNN correspondent Suzanne Malveaux “got a tip fairly early on from somebody who’s inside the White House.” The source simply said: “Put on your best suit.”

Malveaux explained on Saturday’s On The Story: “It’s a source that’s inside of the White House, and we have this kind of code…if there’s something significant that’s going to happen, he always says ‘it’s suit and tie day.’ And it’s not as sexy as the flower pots over here, move it to the other side, but that’s what we used.”
