Jeff Zucker’s Memo

Following up on this: In a post-Olympic memo to NBCU today, Jeff Zucker thanked staffers for their Torino work and highlighted successes across the television group. These are the sections that apply to news:

“NBC NEWS

– “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Today,” and “Meet the Press” all continue to dominate. And I mean dominate. Their competition isn’t even close. NBC News is in a class by itself.

CNBC

– “CNBC Business Day” is up a whopping 43 percent versus first quarter 2005 (43 percent!!!!) and is on pace for its best quarter in total viewers since the fourth quarter of 2003. And, in prime time, “Mad Money with Jim Cramer,” “The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch” and “On the Money” are all set to post their highest ratings ever this month.

MSNBC & MSNBC.com

– There’s real and actual momentum at MSNBC, where the network’s 7 pm show, “Hardball with Chris Matthews” and 8 pm program, “Countdown with Keith Olberman” are now regularly beating CNN among adults 25-54, almost every night. And online, MSNBC.com was recently named the top news and information website by Online Media, Marketing & Advertising magazine, and last month, surpassed 1,000,000,000 (that’s right, one billion) page views, a truly remarkable and staggering accomplishment.”
