Joe Ruffolo knows that news happens 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So a key strategy for the senior vice president of ABC News Digital is to create new initiatives to get the word out faster, whether it’s through live videos, improving mobile features or increasing the brand’s social media presence.
As part of our Profit From Your Passion series, focusing on TV/Entertainment, we talked to Ruffolo about why live video is such an important platform for ABC News Digital: “We started this last year with the elections, where we actually did our own coverage. [On] election night, we had over 10 million live streams going just of the ABC News Digital coverage, which is just a huge, exciting opportunity for us.”
