Jon Gruden To Miami Rumors Heating Up On Twitter

Less than 24 hours after the University of Miami fired football coach Randy Shannon, Lake Lewis of the Sports Journey Broadcast Network tweeted that Jon Gruden would be the next coach of the Hurricanes.

I know, I know.

Lake who?

According to his Twitter profile, he’s a former ESPN radio guy who covers the Washington Redskins.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated shot down the rumor before the Monday Night Football analyst issued a statement:

“I am committed to Monday Night Football and to ESPN. I enjoy working with Mike, Jaws and our entire crew and am just trying to get better at this job.”

Adding more fuel to the fire on Sunday evening was Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald, who tweeted that he heard Gruden agreed to a $3.4 million deal and was working to confirm it.

Someone is obviously not telling the truth here.

Since Gruden was quick to release a statement, I’m guessing he’s leaning towards staying in the booth … for now.
