June #’s: June 2006 Vs. June 2005

Enough with the quarterlies, let’s look at the monthly cable news data. In June 2006, compared to the same month a year ago, FNC and HLN are down while CNN, MSNBC and CNBC are up. (In primetime, CNN is down slightly.)

Some shows have positive demo news to write home about: Imus, The Situation Room, Mad Money, etc. Many of FNC’s shows are down double digits compared to the same month last year.

Here’s a chart, provided by CNN, of the hourly ratings for FNC, CNN, MSNBC, HLN, and CNBC between 3pm and midnight:
