Katrina: “I’m In A Vacuum Here”

CNN correspondent Jeanne Meserve is stationed on the roof of the Hyatt Hotel in downtown New Orleans — and she’s not sure when she’ll be able to leave.

“I’m in a vacuum here,” she said. “I don’t really know the big picture.”

She said her crew’s mobility is limited. “It’s a miracle that I could get this phone call through to you,” she said during a videophone report on The Situation Room. “Communication is just unbelievable.”
